Arts!Longview

SUMMARY

Prior to the formation of Arts!Longview, arts and cultural organizations in Longview were working in silos - a dynamic that was not cultivating holistic growth. Once organizations started partnering to create a coalition in 2005, through the central leadership of the City of Longview, their momentum grew. Working as a consortium over time, they were able to successfully garner a cultural district designation in Longview from the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA), securing access to grants and funds provided by the TCA for arts and cultural activities within designated districts. Through their coalition, Arts!Longview was able to take advantage of an opportunity when it came their way.
