Foundation Communities

SUMMARY

Integrating creative placemaking into the work they do as a community development organization has been a gradual process for Foundation Communities. What began as unit set-asides for musicians in their permanent supportive housing projects has transcended arts-based resident engagement and storytelling events, in addition to a full-time Rose Arts Fellow to conduct this work under their umbrella initiative, FC Creates. For Foundation Communities, their work has created an organizational understanding that arts not only have the ability to contribute to a larger built environment, but can help residents to connect to each other.
